one pebble

makes a swell

that blurs

the glassy pond

this power

may produce

a flutter

noticeable to none

thirty pebbles

form a wave

that shoves

the stagnant pool

igniting

a revolt

against satiety

when summer ends

I gather

pebbles

admiring each

as unique

entities

with greatness of their own

I polish them

with respect,

kindness,

and gentle strength

resulting

in a mighty

force when hurled

into the sea of ordinary
